Using photography in your home marketing-- Stormy Seas Photography 877-776-7530

Photography is the central component of home marketing.
It increases the effectiveness of web marketing.
It increases the effectiveness of print media.
It makes the agent look good because it reduces market time* and
increases net sales price*.
It will help you compete for more listings.

Few real estate agents have the equipment, and or time, required to do quality
interior photography.

What’s required to produce high quality interior photography?
Digital Single Lens Reflex camera body ~ $2,000
Ultra wide-angle lens ~ $600 - $1,000
External flash lighting equipment ~ $1,000
Photo-editing software ~ $800
An eye for making rooms look attractive
Extensive practice at shooting interiors

If you’re not well equipped and experienced your marketing photos will
show it and not be fully effective.

I have a Konica Minolta DSLR (they quit making them as I'm sure you know). I love it and the Tamron wide angle lens. Not all that high quality, but it's more camera than I k now how to use and with a little help from Elements or Photoshop I can take some pretty nice photos.

My question is about lighting. I have one external flash now, but on large rooms or rooms that are brightly lit from outside, I notice that my photos are not so great. How many and what type of external flashes/peppers/etc would you recommend as a nice entry level setup?

Thanks

Well Joe, I have to say that I don't use a traditional lighting setup. I use as much natural lighting as possible and if the lighting is not right then I come back when it is. I take several wooden t's that I attach my lighting to and I place then where necessary. I would say that I use anywhere from 7-10 additional lights when I'm shooting. My system works for me but I did see your site and I saw some very nice photographs. If you aren't a photographer then you should be, lol.

Thanks man. I need to pick up some IR flashes so I can do the same. I've been meaning to, but every time I get ready to go make the investment something pops up and distracts me.
