Why captchas?
Posted in Inman News Feedback and Suggestions By Joe Cline, Sunday, October 19, 2008.Why did Inman start using Captchas? I didn't notice any spam prior to the start of them. I suppose that I'm not privy to the moderation of the comments, but those things are ultra annoying because I tend to get them wrong.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the question. Unfortunately we saw a remarkable amount of spam once the .bots figured out our new site.
Rather than turn the comments off - we decided a CAPTCHA would be the least obtrusive way of solving the situation.
