2009!!! What types of relief can we expect?
Posted in Real Estate Trends By zia montesi / OuterBanksNC, Friday, October 24, 2008.You know it just hit me, I'm looking forward to 2009!!! We are three years into this pain in the stomach / pocket detour and I have survived. Now that doesn't mean I have sold much yet it does mean I haven't lost my thrill for walking in that stranger's house and trying to figure out whether it can be the home my few and frightened active clients might choose. Here in the Outer Banks of North Carolina resort area occupied primarily by second homes & investment purchases, and, where for 30,000+- full time residents often only seasonably employed with 900+- REALTORS in residence, it is reassuring to know I still love my job despite the competition and the current market. Yes, there is very slight indication that conditions are improving. Yet the focus of the foreclosure market impacts all the service industry employers & employees, with this year seeing increased numbers in self employed contractors, even REALTORS loosing their homes, investment properties along with those who really couldn't afford their investment in the first place!!! The local investors, meaning REALTORS, who, in the past have been able to purchase good deals, in need of renovation, now have many more 'affordable' houses on the market they updated / upgraded prior to Fall 2005 priced to sell...here at the beach we roll with the tides. Come relax and smile. Better yet, sit down at sunrise or sunset and smile, wherever you it catches you, regularly take a breath. Take some extra CE Electives, educate yourself with the new topics available. This too shall pass.
