Frank Borges LLosa

Agent/Broker/Owner, FranklyRealty.com & FranklyMLS.com

Frank Borges LLosa is the Broker, Founder and Owner of FranklyRealty.com in Arlington Virginia. He started the firm 5 years ago and was awarded NVAR's Rookie of the Year Award in 2003. Without assistance, he sold over 100 homes in his first 6 months, and $75 million in his first calendar year. His first year's stats would have placed him #1 in WSJ's top sales agents in America under 30, that is, if he had applied. His secret? Discounting and technology. Now his business philosophy has transformed around the slogan "Excellence Comes Standard" with a company policy that each listing be fully staged and professionally photographed. New business is driven almost exclusively from his satirical Blog.FranklyRealty.com where he tells potential clients "Don't Buy, Ask Why" and he reveals Realtor tricks like Pocket Listings, Buyer Agent Bonuses and alternative models like Realtor rebating. His favorite saying now is, "I used to rebate, but then I got good." FranklyRealty.com and his blog have been featured numerous times in BusinessWeek, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CNBC.

More recently, Frank took on the task of building FranklyMLS.com from the ground up. A barebones, gee-whiz-free, lightening fast, cell phone ready, keyword driven home search engine. The site is the first wiki style home search with an MLS feed in the United States. Buyer agents from multiple companies within the DC area are offered points and a front page feature for contributing photos and reviews, mainly for photoless listings. Frank was, "Sick of wasting hours showing a photoless bank listing across town just because the client couldn't see inside. Since our company procedure is to create a Buyer Agent Photo Album for each listing we show, I figured we could show this concept to other agents, at other firms, and have the agents share the photos with each other and on FranklyMLS.com. The result is hours saved and more information for everyone." Just a couple months after launching, the site boasts over 20,000 additional photos added to the site. FranklyMLS.com was also the first to scrub for short sales by adding an asterisk next to suspected short sale listings.

Previous to real estate, Frank was a dot-comer founder and a professional photographer published in National Geographic Traveler and 40 other magazines. This coming fall he been accepted into American University's law school, and plans to attend night school there.
